A Southern Fried Mess

Insanity is a southern necessity…

What was I doing again?

I’d like to say that I’ve been busy these last few days—I have. But to say  that I got a lot of stuff accomplished, well that’s not exactly true. Seems my  days were long and my time short.  I’ve been trying, unsuccessfully, to edit my photos from the photo shoot, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I  hate spending endless hours in front of the computer.  Not to mention the fact that the days, with the exception of today, have been absolutely beautiful. And no one likes to be stuck inside on days like those.  This is probably the real reason why I don’t do this for a living…

( I purposely used a pic that sort of hid his face for this entry as technically I don’t have permission to post his picture on the web….)

You can’t help but laugh when the banana you grabbed for a quick lunch a the local grocery store tells you to laugh out loud.  Of course I did—right there in the produce section—- and folks thought I was a bit off my rocker.  But I got such a kick out of the little guy that I just had to give him some post time.

During the afternoons, when I couldn’t stand being in front of the computer any longer, I would head outside to the backyard for a cup of coffee and a bit of relaxation.  Naturally, this did nothing to help me meet my deadline, but it did help me with my tan. Heaven knows I need all the help I can get in that department.

**************

It was extremely foggy the other morning on our way to preschool, and I just had to take a picture…while I was driving…to show y’all. Yes, I was actually driving on the highway while taking this picture. It was a bit tricky to get it focused while staying focused myself on the road. How dumb was this?  Very, I suppose. If you look really hard, you can see oncoming head lights.

***************

By mid-morning, the fog had almost burned off and I was able to get in a few snap shots of a field bedecked with thousands–literally–of flowers, and several of these tiny dew drenched spider webs hiding in the grass.

***************

It should be obvious to you by now that I’m procrastinating. By listing the above aimless things I’ve been able to put off the photo editing.  Honestly, I’d almost be willing to watch the grass grow out front if it weren’t raining right now—anything  that would keep me from siting in front of this thing, this computer, ALL…DAY…LONG.

My brain hurts….

Maybe I need another cup of coffee and another break….

You know what? I think the attic needs dusting again…..

maybe I’ll just take a nap.

  1. That kid should have combed his hair…I used to do that before I went to get pictures taken…except in the second grade and I got in a lot of trouble.

His mom said the exact same thing! She was so mad at him for not ‘fixing’ his hair before the shoot. I thought he just looked like the rest of today’s kids… I always ended up taking my grade school pictures after recess or PE and in ALL of them I had the most messed up hair you ever saw.
