A Southern Fried Mess

Insanity is a southern necessity…

Here is just a little something that’s been bouncing around inside my head. Enjoy!

The day is nearing an end and the light reflecting in its eyes is beginning to fade.

The ducks waddling about the grounds quickly enter the pond for one last wade.

Up above, the sky and clouds have already started to change their hue;

clothing themselves in fine, ornate gowns of pink, gold and blue.

But though they have dressed themselves for the grand evening ball,

I have vaguely taken notice of these changes at all.

Our hands have brushed against each other, their fingers becoming entwined.

I’m now holding your hand and you’re holding mine.

Two souls on the path of life joining together as one

underneath God’s majestic beauty called a setting sun.

I must confess that I’m finding it a bit hard to breathe.

Not to mention, feeling ever so weak in the knees.

For you see, at this moment the world around me has chosen to disappear

Why, you ask? Because you’ve just leaned over and whispered ‘I love you’ in my ear.
