Life’s smiley face moments….

Have you ever just stopped what it was you were doing at the moment and just smiled;  smiled about the little pleasures of life that are thrown your way?  I do. Here’s some of them……..

– watched the five year old teach the three year old how to play the air guitar on a tennis racket.

–catching the oldest daughter pretending  she’s a beauty queen as she sports my shoes models my cloths.

— when the kids put on a play or some form of American idol/star search production just for us grown-ups ( even if it does last for hours…and hours…and hours).

–having my hubby sneak up on me in the morning and  passionately kiss me, making me feel sexy even though my hair is pointing in ten different directions and I have no makeup on.

— Speaking of makeup….seeing the three year old after she has put on your makeup and realizing it isn’t lipstick that is on her lips, but nail polish.

—getting a hug from one of the kids for no apparent reason.

—watching the dog clean his mate’s face after  she’s done eating and then snuggle with her when she lays down to nap even though he isn’t sleepy.

— becoming breathless by the  wondrous sight of the setting sun after a  bad rain storm.

—  taking a hot shower… where no one enters the bathroom asking for something.

— seeing hubby play patty cake with the girls. He’s actually pretty good at it.

—  ( and my favorite) slaving all day in the kitchen, baking and preparing the evening’s meal and then having my kids tell me it was worth waiting for as they inhale the food and ask for seconds.

Nothing like a little sand…

…between the toes (my toes to be exact) to let you know that it’s summer time! Oh, and uhm yes I’m well aware  of the fact that I have peanut toes.  And that my nails need a new top coat. But hey! Who cares?
